Lexus unveiled its new flagship sedan at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, showing the long-wheelbase version, the LS 460L.
The LS 460 will feature the first 8-speed automatic transmission, coupled with a 4.6-liter V8 engine with a dual fuel-induction system that delivers 380 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. According to Lexus, that is enough to power to launch the LS 460 from zero to 60 mph in less than 5.5 seconds, yet can still provide economy in the mid-20s—impressive figures for a car of this size. |

The Buick Enclave SUV that debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show is officially a concept, but the luxury crossover SUV with high-tech features is expected to be in production during 2007.
Claiming benchmark products such as the Gibson guitar, Eames chair, Cannondale bicycle and even the iPod as their inspiration, Buick’s designers talked up the craftsmanship behind their show car with descriptions such as “bold and romantic,“ “the new face of American luxury” and “elegant without excess.” |
